Zeus Technology, the acknowledged leader in Internet infrastructure solutions, today announced that NOB Cross media facilities has chosen Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager, the next generation in high-availability, application-centric traffic management, for their leading-edge digital broadcast infrastructure.

Compared to competitive products, Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM) was the only offering that could meet all of NOB's requirements for their innovative multi-channel content services covering television, radio, Internet and mobile formats.

NOB's web services platform needs to be secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant. Performance monitoring and control is essential in order to maintain service levels to their customers by pre-allocating resources and prioritizing traffic.

Should a failure occur, ZXTM's ability to monitor back-end servers and easily re-route requests to a back-up pool without affecting service is key.

ZXTM's ability to fully inspect XML data enables NOB to make intelligent traffic routing decisions based on their business rules. In addition ZXTM enables NOB to take full advantage of the performance of their HP ProLiant blade servers.

Marcel Opsteegh, Senior Consultant at NOB commented, "We are extremely impressed with the capabilities of ZXTM. Having evaluated alternative load balancing appliances, we chose Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager because of TrafficScript's ability to properly handle XML and the built-in high performance SSL".

He continued, "We needed a product that was easy to integrate with our applications as opposed to a simple layer 7 load balancer".
