TakingITGlobal inspires the world's youth to interact using Zeus Application Infrastructure Management

Zeus Technology, the acknowledged leader in Internet infrastructure solutions, today announced that their technology is powering www.takingitglobal.org, the largest youth-led online community helping young people from every country in the world connect across cultures and learn about global issues.

TakingITGlobal (TIG) is an international organization led by youth and enabled by technology. Launched in 2000, TIG's online community has doubled in traffic several times each year and now brings together over 60,000 members. With average daily traffic exceeding 1 million hits per day and anywhere from 10,000 to 30,000 unique IP addresses accessing the site, their existing web infrastructure had reached capacity.

TIG required a flexible, manageable solution in order to scale up their services and allow for future growth of their infrastructure. Having looked at a number of options they were most attracted to Zeus because their knowledge and experience in application infrastructure management solutions.

TIG deployed Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager (ZXTM), Zeus Web Server (ZWS) and MySQL in a resilient cluster configuration. With ZXTM's advanced TrafficScript control language, TIG could manage incoming application traffic more effectively, separating read-only MySQL requests from read-write requests, and allowing the creation of a more flexible and intelligent application cluster.
