Customer Experience
No matter how much bandwidth and infrastructure you invest in, users who are far from your datacenter will get poor levels of service due to high-latency, congested and unreliable networks. Zeus’ Global Load Balancing solutions can identify where a user is located and connect him to the closest, best performing datacenter.
Datacenter Load Balancing
Zeus’ Global Load Balancing solutions can load-balance users across multiple datacenters. The load-balancing decision is based on several criteria:
- Datacenter Availability: Users are never sent to datacenters that have failed.
- Datacenter Performance: Health monitors continually test the performance of services running in each datacenter. Faster datacenters can be preferred over slower ones.
- Geographic Proximity: The solution uses a comprehensive database to identify the location of each remote user, and can connect users to the datacenter that is geographically closest.
The load-balancing decision may be configured to act purely on load, on geographic proximity, or on a mixture of the two.
The Global Load Balancing option for Zeus Multi-Site Manager can further utilize TrafficScript rules to precisely define how users are routed to datacenters, implementing service and infrastructure-specific policies to optimize security, management and efficiency.
Benefits
The benefits of an active-active load balancing mode are that it gives better datacenter utilization, users get the best possible level of service, and the configuration provides full failover in the event of a datacenter failure.
