Case study: NOB Cross-media Facilities

NOB Cross Media Facilities is an example of an SME which has benefitted greatly from deploying ZXTM on their existing HP server blades. Their use of cutting-edge XML technology in providing rich media clips to other companies necessitated a capable and flexible solution that would grow with their business.

The challenge

NOB provide audio and video clips to TV and radio production companies. They needed an XML-fluent traffic manager which could take on the load of their SSL billing traffic. They also needed a solution that would run out- of-the-box on their existing blade hardware.

The solution

ZXTM was deployed as a software solution on HP Proliant DL 360 servers with dual Intel Xeon processors, with the plan to switch to HP's 64-bit AMD servers when they became available.

The payback

Using ZXTM's native XML content management capabilities, NOB were able to inspect requests and send them to the most suitable media server, in effect optimizing their information search and retrieval. By using ZXTM to process SSL transactions, they did not need to purchase additional cryptographic hardware, keeping their costs down.
