The challenge
They were looking to provide enterprise-level load balancing as a value-add service to their shared hosting customers, but were unable to use a hardware load balancing solution primarily due to the upfront costs involved and the level of integration required with their own, in-house hosting platform.
The solution
Zeus Technology was able to offer the company a leasing model for the purchase of the software licences of ZXTM. Using this software, the company was then able to provide virtual load balancing services, tightly integrated with their existing hosting platform, as an add-on service to their customers.
The payback
The Planet has been able to offer package prices beginning at just $49 per month for load balancing of three services and two nodes, with additional nodes and services for a nominal fee. This solution in turn allows their customers to provide highly-available services at market-leading prices.
